“Oregon will be fun, they said. Oregon will be nice and cold, they said!

You know what? Boo! Boo Oregon! Total malarkey! We should have planned to solve mysteries at the pool or something instead!”

The two of them were alone, and they were practically doubles of each other, so by this point nothing stopped Dipper from taking his sweaty shirt off and tossing it over with his other clothes. The grass was a little dry and itchy against his back but it felt better than laying covered in soaked fabric. The butterfly was scared off with the movement and Dipper exhaled when he did lay back down. This was miserable!

"Ugh, man.. you don’t suppose there’s got to be a lake or a river or anything around here, do you?” He turned his head, cheek twitching when grass tickled his nose. Bodies of water nearby sounded pretty plausible. There were rivers all over the place around here! He would suggest going to the falls but that was pretty far off, and same went for the pool. Water in general just sounded like a nice idea currently.

“You can say that again.” Dipper gowned yanking off his shoe and then his sock working on taking off the other shoe and sock now.

“Isn’t there a pond near where the gnomes live?” The boy asked successfully yanking off his shoe, then taking off his sock before he continued speaking, “I mean, didn’t the journal say there was one near it or something?” He asked, tossing his shoes and socks into his clothing pile.
